Beyond the Place of Laughter and Tears in the Land of Devotion Book

Spiritual Writings of David Spero
$15.00

Beyond the Place of Laughter and Tears in the Land of Devotion is a compilation of David's poetry, essays, aphorisms and discourses. It is also a confession of his ecstatic spiritual realization and a potent vehicle of his living transmission.

In the Introduction to David's book, the Reverend Thomas Ahlburn writes: ". . . I think David's views are as brilliantly insightful as any that one is likely to encounter among living spiritual writers, including those of Ram Dass, Andrew Harvey, Ken Wilber, Bernadette Roberts, and the great spiritual genius Adi Da Samraj."

David's book will be sent to you in sincere appreciation for your donation in support of his teaching.

Quotes

  • "Scripture is a Rorschach blot; you find whatever you need, you see whoever you are."

Jussi's Story

How Did You Meet David?:

I found David from internet when I was looking for information on enlightenment. I wasn't looking for a teacher at that time. When I saw David's first video I felt like he was telling the truth, as simple as it sounds. I continued to watch his videos and felt that there was something familiar in the way he spoke, and felt like I was connected at some level to the things he was saying. Later on I ordered David's book and deicded to go sit with him.

How has meeting David, attending his events or coming into contact with his teachings, impacted your life?:

For a long time I've been living in this constant field of suffering, sometimes it's really thick and sometimes it's a bit lighter. During the time I spent with David, I had many different experiences. Most importantly I released a lot of the pain I carried and now I don't feel so heavy. The way I feel after being with David is like a secret that I carry with me, and it's like I have some distance to my personal suffering now.
It's like David dragged me to a place where escaping to suffering is not so easy anymore, I like to put it this way because I want to be free of suffering but there is also some resistance. I think the resistance is there because I can sense unpleasant things coming up.

A secret

This phrase hit me as very familiar and close to my heart:

"The way I feel after being with David is like a secret that I carry with me".

Thank you Jussi.

Thank you for the comment!

Yes, I feel that way because it's almost impossible to really speak about what happens with David
