Beyond the Place of Laughter and Tears in the Land of Devotion Book

Spiritual Writings of David Spero
$15.00

Beyond the Place of Laughter and Tears in the Land of Devotion is a compilation of David's poetry, essays, aphorisms and discourses. It is also a confession of his ecstatic spiritual realization and a potent vehicle of his living transmission.

In the Introduction to David's book, the Reverend Thomas Ahlburn writes: ". . . I think David's views are as brilliantly insightful as any that one is likely to encounter among living spiritual writers, including those of Ram Dass, Andrew Harvey, Ken Wilber, Bernadette Roberts, and the great spiritual genius Adi Da Samraj."

David's book will be sent to you in sincere appreciation for your donation in support of his teaching.

Quotes

  • Grace is the Liberating Power and Knowledge and Presence of Consciousness. That's what Grace is: the Power of your own Self, revealed to you, either through a Master or through the Gateway of your own Heart. It's the Same Thing.

How Did You Meet David?:

Today, in April of 2009, I seem to keep reflecting on how these past few months are so different from a few years ago. I first met David over 3 years ago after a friend urged me to return to California and had sent me a picture of David.

How has meeting David, attending his events or coming into contact with his teachings, impacted your life?:

When I first met David, I experienced with him, amazing shakti, blissful days and months, but I didn’t seem to know how, or be willing or able to open fully, as a true devotee must, to his/her Beloved Teacher. In the last few months, after starting to participate in the online meditations and return after over a year, to start seeing David again, I seem to have been given a great gift. After the last year or so of treading water, so to speak, I have been shown the necessity and given the ability to get closure from my past relationships, including past teachers and with that, given the gift of grace to see David more clearly and open my heart completely, allowing that precious surrender that my soul has craved forever. In these past months, I found I have to meditate at least daily, making myself completely vulnerable. In one of his recent talks, David has mentioned, “just dwell on me with love and innocence”. In meditating, in that spirit, I found that I was willing to share whatever feelings, thoughts and emotions that came up. With the start of those daily meditations, I started feeling the connection that I hadn’t taken the time to nurture before. I hadn’t really been reaching out to David in years past, but had simply been receiving the grace given, without consideration of what I needed to share. Slowly, through the past weeks, I have felt any insecurity relaxing in the growing confidence my heart feels. It senses now that it has connected forever with its source.
