Beyond the Place of Laughter and Tears in the Land of Devotion Book

Spiritual Writings of David Spero
$15.00

Beyond the Place of Laughter and Tears in the Land of Devotion is a compilation of David's poetry, essays, aphorisms and discourses. It is also a confession of his ecstatic spiritual realization and a potent vehicle of his living transmission.

In the Introduction to David's book, the Reverend Thomas Ahlburn writes: ". . . I think David's views are as brilliantly insightful as any that one is likely to encounter among living spiritual writers, including those of Ram Dass, Andrew Harvey, Ken Wilber, Bernadette Roberts, and the great spiritual genius Adi Da Samraj."

David's book will be sent to you in sincere appreciation for your donation in support of his teaching.

Quotes

  • "... the Kundalini is an invitation to live in the world, awakened. The Non-dual aspect will always feel foreign in the world, because it doesn’t mix with anything, it’s a hundred percent Absolute."

Initiation and the Nature of the Absolute (in essay form)

Initiation and the Nature of the Absolute
by David Spero

Within the Absolute arises Its own Power of Initiation. You might ask, "Why?" That's like asking, "Why does the sun rise?" The answer is: it's in Its Nature to initiate, to fire out of Itself, to spread Its glory. That’s the nature of the Self, the Absolute.

"On Meditation," a transcribed talk by David Spero

"On Meditation," an edited talk by David Spero,
Given on December 1, 2007, Palm Springs, CA.

There are essentially two ways to meditate. The first method requires outer instruction, and what you are generally taught is how to control or quiet your mind. That is the most common method available and, as you know, there are many traditions and paths that teach this form of meditation.

The Fire Beyond Self Realization

The Fire Beyond Self Realization
- a transcribed and edited talk by David Spero (June 26, 2004)

If you feel that the only actually, and fundamentally, real thing in the human being is pure consciousness or the Absolute, then the topics of bhakti, of love, and parabhakti, supreme devotion, are moot topics. They're non-topics, or, in the very worst scenario, they are taboo.
